Uranium is a silvery, metallic chemical element, which occurs naturally in low concentrations and is commercially extracted. Often referred to as “the other yellow metal”, In its enriched form, uranium fuels at least 440 nuclear power stations, which fuels 16% of the world’s electricity.
With oil and gas as non-renewable resources, subject to supply interruptions, uranium is often looked at as a smart energy alternative. It does not have to be heavily subsidized like wind, it’s not dirty or labor-intensive like coal, and the technology already exists.
Uranium stocks have been skyrocketing over the past few years after many years of little rise since the 1970s. There is no telling how high the stocks could climb, but experts agree that they will likely surpass expectations.
